A HelpPatch is a Patch that aims to explain the functionality of a Node in detail. With a node selected, its helppatch can be accessed pressing the F1 key. If no patch pops up, the selected node is still lacking its helppatch. Also note that when pressing ALT + F1 with node selected its online node reference page pops up (in your default web-browser) which may contain additional information.

You can create helppatches for any node, Module, Effect or Plugin. In order to make it pop up when you press F1 you need to make sure to:

• name the patch correctly, ie: Nodename help.v4p (eg. MyNode (MyCategory) help.v4p)
• place the patch in the same directory the module, effect, plugin is placed
