Glad to see this, thanks!
Any chance of having a SetTransform node for animation? Recalculating all transforms resulting from animations is not very intuitive at the moment depending on the file's hierarchy ... especially having nested animations ... assimp-(dx11)-transformation-hierarchy
actually you can already preserve transform hierarchy with Skeleton (Assimp) and I think I will going to do the same, it will depend on the sdk though how that will be realized
it doesn't need to be skeletal animation. vvvv skeleton is just a toolkit for hierarchical transformations (aka skeletons) but absolutely can be used to maintain parent child relationships. In the assimp skeleton node you can specify any kind of node in the scene as the root and then retrieve the resulting transforms with GetJointTransform node. Animate with the SetJoint node with animation transform. Same method will be used most probably with fbx too
off the chain!
Nicely done!
yeah looking forward to an alternative method to load fbx.
Glad to see this, thanks!

I was talking about non-skeletal animations ;)

What? This gotta be an unknown feature then, thanks for the hint .. seems like nobody was aware of this.
i need this in my life
