kiilo - CarnivoreVVVV

A massiv knobbox invites you to play with graphics. The graphic is triggerd by network data, wich is captured by CarnivorPE a usefull network sniffing tool (seehttp://www.rhizome.org/carnivore/)

in the center in my patch there is a movie OnGuard it is about the first big computer installation which was made by IBM for the US Air Force to discrimate the enemy from friend. The movie you can get by the prelinger archiveshttp://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=prelinger&collectionid=06855 or from my KiikiTikiWikihttp://kiilo.dyndns.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=OnGuard

SAGE invented a massive amount of new modern technics like:

  • the electronic display
  • programming languages
  • databases
  • networking 28 station where connected throughout the whole USA
  • Multiuser Multitasking operating system (timeslice)
  • 5,5 MW power consumption (modern in nowerdays think about P IV or some graphic-cards ;-)

this was all invented 1956!!!!
