Sine Wave's along a line

Hello All,

Thanks in advance for any help, I tried the IRC channels through the fan club but can’t seem to get a connection. Perhaps I should try them using another IRC client, Any ideas?

Anyhow, that’s not the question…

I’m trying to do my first VVVV project, which if I can pull off will get placed on a 100 meter building (pretty damn fine)… problem is simple tasks are confusing me.

The basic problem is getting a horizontal line drawn on screen, and have a sine wave traveling from one side to another along it.

With the combination of a Linear Spread, Wave Shaper and Vector patch I’ve got a static sine wave drawn, but how do I just get one wave along the axis?

Thanks. Dan

hi dan,
there are for sure manifold approaches to this.

this one is perhaps not elegant,
but fast…

Thanks Kalle,

I’m hoping to get the final version more organic, more like a whip rolling down a whip… your patch is a great starting point, I’ll have a look and see what I can get it to do.

and have a look at gregsns wave_1d patch here: http://vvvv.org/tiki-index.php?page=Wave+Simulation
