meso-Mercedes Benz Trade Fair 2006

Atelier Markgraph commissioned meso digital interiors to implement 4 trade fair exhibits for Mercedes Benz E-Class and S-Class:

Presafe

The Presafe exhibit demonstrates the worlds first security system that brakes automatically if the radar detects obstacles in front of the new S-Class. Visitors can move two high-resolution displays along the table whose position is directly related to the playback of a demo video, so that you can scratch the video by hand. If you cross the 1,6 second mark, an electronic brake gives you physical ABS feedback!

E-Class Features

A noble video player. Turnig the big aluminium wheel turns both a virtual ring of video stills in 3D space and the white car model on the table. The closest slide zooms to the front and the video begins to play. There are 18 videos showing highlights of the new E-Class. A pointer indicates a position under the car model where the feature is located.

Intelligent Light System

A full HD video crossfader. Shows the 5 modes of the new E-Class intelligent light system. A multiswitch jog dial starts a seamless video loop which shows the cone of light of the particular mode (highway, curve, etc.)

4Matic

4 wheel drive video loop switcher.

mrboni: I meant a gpu version of B-Spline (3D Surface). I only found an approach using bicubic filtering on a texture (dx9 gpuparticles)
