SPACE is an international meeting-point for artists who share a passion for experimenting with communication mediums, who create synchronized image and sound and, thus, address auditory and visual senses. Visualizers, sound artists and all others interested are warmly invited to participate.

Beyond the walls of the former freight depot and todays cultural center „Bollwerk107“ a temporary audiovisual lab is waiting for you. When dawn strikes we invite you to join us on a long weekend of common research, experimenting and modulating. Through playful experiments mundane inanimate objects will be transformed will be brought to life in unexpected ways: the belt sander is gonna become the drive motor of a kaleidoscope, the controller of a gaming station will transcend to a sound controller and the surveillance camera will transform into a roughly pixeled light sensor of a perpetuum mobile.

Additionally to shiny hardware experiences we invite you to show your newest developments in programming and audiovisual software design. Shiny Toys opens a Space for workshops and lectures, performances and coding.

In addition to the planned lectures and workshops, the SHINY TOYS* SPACE is always open to new contributions, themes and sessions. Spontaneous debates and exchange are just as much a main focus as the tonal and visual adoption of the spaces is.Hinter den Mauern des ehemaligen Güterbahnhofs und heutigen Kulturzentrums “Bollwerk” erwartet euch ein audiovisuelles Labor auf Zeit. Das SPACE ist ein internationales Treffen für Künstler und Interessierte deren Gemeinsamkeit in der Experimentierfreude mit Kommunikationsmitteln liegt, die Bild und Ton synchron erzeugen und somit auditive und visuelle Sinne ansprechen. Visualisten, Klangkünstler und alle Interessierten sind herzlich eingeladen teilzunehmen.

Abseits des Tageslichts laden wir zu einem langen Wochenende ein, um gemeinsam zu forschen, experimentieren und modulieren. In spielerischen Experimenten bekommen Alltagsgegenstände neues Leben eingehaucht: Der Bandschleifer wird Antriebsmotor eines Kaleidoskops, der Kontroller einer Spielekonsole wird zur Soundsteuerung und die Überwachungskamera zu einem grobpixeligen Lichtsensor eines Perpetuum Mobile.

Neben Spielereien mit Hardware ist das Space offen für neueste Entwicklungen und Experimente im Bereich der audiovisuellen Software. Shiny Toys bietet euch Raum für Workshops und Vorträge, Performances und Coding.

Neben geplanten Vorträgen und Workshops steht das SHINY TOYS* SPACE jederzeit offen für neue Beiträge, Themen und Sessions. Spontane Debatten und Austausch stehen neben der klanglichen und visuellen Aneignung der Räume im Vordergrund.
