Hi evvvverybody,
first of all i have to say SHAME ON ME for non posting projects since a long time here...
for few reasons... first of all i'm lazy... than i'm not always up to date buying vvvv licences (but don't tell this to the vvvv group guys)
last but not least, we are very bad documenting our projects... (if I may advise you, this should be the most important part of every installations).
Any way, like a “New Year's promise" or better as "after #NODE13's promise" i will post our best installations, done in the last 3 years, starting from this... once a week.
So, lets talk about this installation done in 2010 that i'm really proud... done by dotdotdot together with elliotwood of the kimchiandchips studio and gaz of uberact.
A multi-user interactive table designed for the new trophies hall of Inter, that tells the glorious history of the Milan-based club, reviving through images and videos the most exciting moments of the team.
The back projected surface of the table is sensitive to finger touch and responds to multiple inputs simultaneously.
Let's talk a little bit about technologies used to do this project:
Is a back projected round table, we use 2 projectionsdesign projectors 3000 ansi lumen 1400x1050 pixels each.
We track the fingers using FTIR (Frustrated Total Internal Reflection) by a 640X480 imaging source firewire camera.
for tracking we used CCV software connected via TUIO.
As you might see, the people are tracked even when they don't interact directly with the table. we track them thanks to another camera on the top of the table directly via vvvv.
Another interesting thing is that as soon as you select a trophy on the table, the relative real trophy in the room is highlighted by a system of LED panels controlled via DMX by ECUE Buttler.
That's it!
Thank you all!
