DOF Filter

effect
Credits: kalle: texture controlled advanced blur effect (TexCtrlBlurAdv.fx)

about

yet another DOF. it's a bit simpler than the already existing ones but a bit nicer (blur techniques are made by kalle) and slower. more info in the help patch.
addonpack is required for this.
so i hope you like it!:) if you see some potential improvements or ideas what i haven't discovered yet on any part of this feel free to write it down.

looks brilliant

matka 20/10/2011 - 15:25

can't find Intersect(EX9.Geometry Mesh)?

mrboni 20/10/2011 - 16:11

Looks brilliant.

Really nice use of phong point light positioning too!

I worry though that we'll easily run into issues with the number of texture fx in there (and therefore info.texture nodes info-(ex9.texture)-excessive-cpu-usage- -low-frame-rate

microdee 20/10/2011 - 17:13

@mrboni: good point. i should expand them probably
@matka: hmm i thought it's in the addonpack, isn't it?

matka 20/10/2011 - 23:13

i'm on beta 25.1, should i get addons from 26?

joreg 21/10/2011 - 02:55

@matka: no. get beta26. the intersect node is native, (ie. not in the addonpack).

matka 21/10/2011 - 09:59

thanks for clearing this joreg, went backk to 25 cause problems with 26 finding my plugins, effects and modules, can i have both versions installed?

microdee 21/10/2011 - 12:24

oh intersect needed only for the help patch (in beta26 it has a different behavior (ray is already rotated in the node, in beta25 you have to rotate it manually with a transform node)) if you install the texturefx folder of the beta26 addonpack to beta 25 the dof should work.
i have beta 26 and 25 side-by-side the default is 26 for me, so you can use both.

matka 22/10/2011 - 12:36

got it!! thanks

hi, microdee, thanks for sharing but THIS GREAT TEXCTRLBLURADV.FX is KALLE's one !
i have reinjected it in contributions when vvvv's site changed, and that all contributions suddendly needed to be re uploaded !
It would be really great to change the credit to our great uncle KALLE, who is a well known contributor to vvvv community ;-)

microdee 05/03/2012 - 00:34

oh ok sorry for the misunderstanding. credits are corrected.

karistouf 05/03/2012 - 00:49

merci for kalle ;-)
and dont be sorry !!! ;-)
