I love vvvv!

It makes programming fun again :)

Sometimes I make techno music, listen at http://bogiwoye.info/

+ + + + 2009 Jan 22
I played around with VertexBuffer, Mesh, Template (from EX9.Effects) and managed to draw what I wanted.
It took me a while, but I managed to generate a filled circle (created from separate triangles). The main problem was of course specifying the Indices. They tell the Mesh node which vertices to use to create triangles. Using a circular spread I had the vertices which form the circle, but I had to manually insert the vertex at center (x=0, y=0) and appropriately create the indices array. I guess a vvvv master would probably be able to do the same thing with far less nodes. I think I'll ask just that in the forum.

I played a second time. I started using sub-patches, and it seems the best way to patch. Even for live patching. When things get more complex, sub-patches make it well organized. The thing I see I'll need now is some central signal (LFO, MidiClock, whatever) and other triggers, and then inputs on different sub-patches that link to these signals.

+ + + + 2008 Dec 25 = Oct 31 hahaha :)
I wish everyone a merry x-mass! I just got back from my first live vvvv gig :) Partly I was also a DJ, but the most fun part was live patching in vvvv as a VJ, on which I worked about 75% of the evening :)
Due to network related issues, (I wasn't well prepared and used someone elses' laptop for vvvv), there was no sync with Live on the other machine :( But it was still very interesting... I used some randomizing video patch with some movies, and I opened some of my previous animations and copied them into the main patch, mostly simple 2D animations. Favorite nodes of this evening: attractor, pillow, perlin, lfo, dxtexture+framedelay (for feedback)
