Kinect rgb as normals to drive particles

I’ve been trying to get the normals to work in the particlesGPU shader library 3d texture. i can tell that it is doing something but the main problem seems to be that the scale of the texture as emitter is very small compared to the scene. Anyone have luck with kinect and the particles gpu shader library?
