Search in patches

annyeong haseyo,
bug: every time i open the search function Ctrl+f from the main patch (contains lots of subpatches) there’s a .NET error.
searching for nodes does not work. it happens only within this huge main patch. what’s wrong? any idea?
please have a look at the attached pic.
i use win7 with beta26.
seng you!
armin

ai armin,

pic missing. patch preferred!

step by step delete stuff from your main patch and try ctrl+f. probably after deleting some stuff it works. like this try to reduce the patch to a minimum that still causes the problem and post that patch here.

oui…this one is probably fixed already…

sorry can’t post the patch. it is to big. any hint what i should look for to debug it? it’s a “stecknadel im heuhaufen”…

hi armin.

in some projects i have the same issue, and i couldn´t track it down either. i found out though, that searching for a node works in beta25.1, though the patch itself won´t work properly in this version, because of missing connection and nodenames that differ.

also, when beta 25.1 came out, i couldn´t search for a node because of the s(send advanced) node. when i removed all of these node, i was able to search the patch again. so it´s likely that there is a node which isn´t compatible with the search function…

let us know if you find something.
best

i use a lot of s and r nodes but reproduced in similar patches shows its not the problem here.
found out it also occurs if you close the last patch window, leaving the search window (ctrl+f) open and do a left click on one of the listings…https://vvvv.org/sites/default/files/imagecache/large/images/screenshot_II.png

oui, that last one was nice to reproduce. and as mentioned before the first one may already be fixed. so for now i close this thread.

if the problem persists with the betas>26 please start a new thread.
