Theatrix 550

I have a theater pro 550 capture card, the s-video or composite in is not looking good. The attached image is what my video camera is viewing (the ‘no signal’ is just the projector output). The video input on both s-video and composite appear fine in the PowerCinema program.

looks like the NTSC/PAL settings are not correct?

Ya, it does for sure, except, when I change the input to another format it doesn’t seem to change the output. It has five choices for input, NTSC_M, M_J, PAL_B,D and H.

do you think the btwincap drivers can help with your card? “Video Capture driver for Bt848, Bt849, Bt878 and Bt879 based video capture boards. It tries to take the most of the hardware, using all the features the chipset has to offer.”

The btwincap driver will most probably not work with the theatre pro 550 as this card is (what i read in the internet) using a totally different chipset.

The description of the chip sounds promising !? Is the card still available ? I did not find the card in any online-store.

Did you already test different resolutions and video formats ?

Just downloaded AMCAP to make sure everything was fine, and it had trouble at first, it asked me to go to Options, TV Tuner, it was not responding at first, then I clicked on the format, and it seemed to stabilize. AMCap starts fine now and shows all three capture sources fine (tuner, s-video and composite)

I think it’s something to do with the card not switching formats.

When I go to the stream properties and click on the video decoder while it’s running in AMCap it says Signal Detected: 1, which is good, and Lines detected 625, which is also good. VVVV doesn’t detect a good signal, and lines detected is 25, or someother low number…

Ah, just figured it out, the card needs to be initialized with the correct format settings FIRST. I created a patch with the correct settings, PAL, 720x576, then saved, and reverted to saved and presto the image is fine.
