Package to a windows projector

would be really cool if there was some menu option to package patch to projector, where all special modules, patches, etc. that is referenced inside a patch is packaged into a windows projector that can work as standalone application (exe) kind of like flash/director does it…
obviously, some decisions would have to be made for what is actually displayed by the projector - all renderer windows, and perhaps defined ioboxes that would serve as parameter adjustments? well i guess it must be hard to do something like this, but would be really nice if i could just package a patch, burn it to disk and send it to someone with no vvvv knowledge to look at - no need to install everything on his computer + all my special patches and modules that is referenced…the only restriction would be wether his hardware and directx are sufficient

would anybody else want this? i think it would extend vvvv’s usefulness beyond interactive installation to interactive works that are more portable and distributable

i love the idea and would be very happy with such a solution. so you can be shure that nobody can change some settings.

see “Player License” in buy a license

did you ever press CTRL-E?

@ kalle:
a licence does not equal the functionality i’m talking about. afaik the player licence only legally allows you to distribute a patch - but you still have to find some way of “packaging” it…ie converting it to some form of standalone application.

i’m just bringing this up, cos i’m sure i’m not the only one who wanted to show some cool patch to somebody, but then, if that person does not have vvvv, i have to somehow get him/her to install the full vvvv software, with all the particular special patches i am using etc. Or let’s say i want to go demo something to potential clients - i am now forced to take my own computer with vvvv on it - i can’t just take a disk and stick it into a computer and demo it…

yes you can, just copy the whole vvvv onto the disk & make sure you’ve used relative paths like a good boy ;)
but i see what you mean about the exe thing…
