Lua node

would be great. lua is simple and fast, and there are a lot of examples outside

patching since 2 days and already spamming the wishlist…

just kiddin’

@all: tobiasr does an internship at 3deluxe and is sitting just viceversa in my room. :)
for sure you will read soon more from him.

i vote for javaFx :)

you will begin to love c#

i still vote for javascript parser

what would one do with such a node?

anything that’s easier/cleaner to code than to patch. for ie. dynamic spreads would be a lot easier to control, recursiveness etc.

indeed, there are tasks that can be solved in a textual language much easier.

if nothing goes wrong, next version will have a COM interface to write your own nodes. joreg tests it with c# at the moment. perhaps, at first, c# will be the only language that works.

but you should not expect an integrated editor like for shaders. it is to develop a node in an IDE, compile it into maschine code and include it then.
thats the right way in my opinion, because it results in best performance. scripting languages will need an intepreter, which makes things complicated and slower…

sounds lovely!

Wow, would it be so you can write basic custum nodes, and share these with other vvvv-adicts? This sounds very interesting!!

Would realy boost my c# learning :)

learning csharp from now on…

hmm,

ok c# is a nice programming language but my problem is that there seems no good implementation available for the my favorite ide eclipse :( or i am wrong?

That sounds really awesome, I was wondering what was brewing with a tease like this: “you will begin to love c#”

I’m really glad to hear that, I know some C# already… might as well learn some more!

I know none, wheres the best place to learn some?
Any books you reccomend?

uh, me too want (better: think i have to) learn c# for noobies…
somebody of the **skype**mates around here with some hints?

I learned most C# stuff from previous programming experience with Java and ActionScript (recently anyway). The syntax would be familiar to anyone familiar with javascript and the class syntax is very similar to Java. There is also a lot of info in the help files.

“if nothing goes wrong, next version will have a COM interface to write your own nodes. joreg tests it with c# at the moment. perhaps, at first, c# will be the only language that works.”

Unless it sneaked in without being mentioned in the changelog I guess we’ll have to wait some more…

In any case it seems like a good way to finally be able to add proper tablet support. It would be interesting to hear more details about how this will work especially how the interface between vvvv and your code will look (I don’t know if parts of that would be obvious if I had COM experience but I don’t).

yes, very sorry, the interface is not yet included, i was too fast… it still needs some testing.

of course there will be templates/examples to look at.

anyways, if you have some programming experience, you might send joreg or me a message with your email address to become an alpha tester.

hi tonfilm,

how to send you a email? what is your email address? tonfilm (at) meso (dot) de ?? i would be very interested in doing alphatesting the new com interface. already have java, javascript, actionscript, php experience. having some friends coding c# so it should be no problem for me to learn it fast.

would be nice to get in contact with you, please write me a email 7eitlos (at) gmx (dot) de or andreas (at) vektorfarm (dot) de .

best andreas

i meant sending a wiki internal message. there is a button on each userpage to do so. clicking on a username will bring you to the userpage.
but now you are in the list already, thx.
