Vista X64

Can some one help me?
I can’t run VVVV in vista x64 (64bit)

hardware:
Q9300
8G rams
GF 9600 GT

what is the exact behaviour after doubleclicking vvvv.exe?

bluescreens? errormessages? bizarre startup-patches? strange patching behaviour?

no response…

hold on welcome screen…no response…
and then need to end the vvvv…

did you turn of the vista user-security stuff?
what happens when you run the uninstall.exe in the vvvv folder?
are all items activated? (no need to uninstall - it’s just a good way to check if everything is registered correctly)

Did you experienced the same kind of freeze with few others softwares ?
Try to test your RAM.
I guess you have the latest Nvidia drivers and the DirectX9 installed/updated !

you need to run vvvv as administrator on vista. rightclick the vvvv.exe and see the options. its als described here

i want a pc like yours!

I am the administrator…so I haven’t this options.
same problem when I “run as administrator”.

I have installed latest Nvidia drivers and Directx9…
also same problem…

you don’t happen to have 3d studio max installed, do you?

you don’t happen to have 3d studio max installed, do you?

Oh~ I have installed 3ds max 2008 (32bit and 64bit)…
is it the 3ds max affected VVVV??

uninstalled 3ds max 2008 (32bit and 64bit)…

still can’t work…holding on welcome screen…no response…

wow this is really strange. there once was a guy who got it to work even with 3dsmax, but all the others that complained here didn’t. i can’t say what/why this is.

probably 3dsmax is installing something it is not uninstalling. hmm…so the only thing that should really help is a os-reinstall.

that’s mean vista x64 can run VVVV? right?

Maybe my OS problem…

right, vista64 itself should not be the problem.

thx~ I may reinstall the OS later~

so what does the uninstall.exe in the vvvv folder tell? every box checked?

Hi, I’m new to vvvv. Did anyone ever get this to work? I’ve tried installing it on my new 64bit vista machine, but to no avail.

Keep getting this error:
“this application has failed to start because d3dx9-30.dll was not found.”

I’ve also tried downloading the ImageCFG.exe and running the command line:

imagecfg -1 vvvv.exe

But it keeps telling me that ‘imagecfg’ is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

can anybody help?

are you sure you have the newest version of DirectX 9.0c installed?

qouted from downloads:

This link should always lead you to the latest DirectX Redist(ributable) download.

Even Windows Vista users with DX10 have to install DX9.0c. And you have to run vvvv at least once as administrator: right click the vvvv.exe icon and go to properties. Under the compatibility tab check ‘run this program as an administrator’. Voila!

Thanks for your reply,
This may sound like a stupid question but where should I extract the DirectX 9.0c files to?
