Render to laser (ILDA)

Hello at all,
a stupid ( i hope no ;) stupid question…
how can control a laser directly from a render…
here an example

can i simply use the (x,y,color) value to each pixel to draw in realtime the image?

lumiere by robert henke is a highly optimized custom polygon system which uses audio cards to output the laser control signals. there is no such thing as a pixel renderer involved.

you can imagine the laser as a point that you have to move around and switch on and off in the image to draw the shapes.

best thing to start with is 2d polygons and converting the polygons to point sequences that you send to the laser.

you often need to double or triple the points at corners so the laser rests there in order to get sharp corners.
