Root and contribution folder problem

Hello everybody
I’m using beta 31, I created a contributions folder, then I hit alt+r and put its path in the root patch, I saved it, but all the external modules and plugins are missing in the node broweser.
In the past, I didn’t have this problem.
What I’m missing?
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks

hm…only to do exactly as mentioned here: nodes and paths under Using Contributions

I can assure, I’ve done what is mentioned there many times. and in the past it worked.

EDIT: I can also see the count of nodelist change, but my modules and plugins don’t appear in the node browser

I know the solution will be very stupid, but I don’t know what to do more now.

exactly the same problem here…tried for 4 hours…copying back and forth here and there…nothing happens.

im on windows 8 64 bit — vvvv beta 31.2 x86

i tried everything so far…

in root patch … if i check the slices of the nodelist it shows that it reads the corresponding nodes from the contribution folder …but double clicking doesnt show me those nodes…no clue anymore.

I know u guys are bored of this problem …cuz its normally related to ppl not reading the corresponding documentation…but i did…and still no solution

Please help

vvvv31beta_x68, win7 on a 64bit laptop, I created a
C:\Program Files (x86)\vvvv_45beta31_x86\contributions\modules folder structure, doing the “alt+r and put its path in the root patch”.

Works JUST inside the root patch to get any subpatch-module via the double-left-click browser and they are not shown in the ctrl+n NodeBrowser
(even so the NodeList node outputs that they where loaded).

In any other new patch window (ctrl+p) nothing shows up anymore !

A hack around is to simply drag any modules inside the patch or to open them via shift+ctrl+o inside a patch.

It would be nice if this feature would still be working so and it seems like
some bug.

Yes thats the same bug…but i guess the workaround is not really the most efficient one…more ideas?

that sounds odd. no idea yet. works here as expected. what do you get in Renderer (TTY) the moment you add your contrib dir to the root?

random thought:
when doubleclicking to open the nodebrowser and clicking the F in its topright corner to see the category filters: is there anything unchecked?

also still waiting for your tty-report (see my last comment).

@joreg: “when doubleclicking to open the nodebrowser and clicking the F in its topright corner to see the category filters: is there anything unchecked?”

everything checked

ok, and in earlier versions (<b31) you say this works expected?

“ash on my main” ;) … Joreg was kind enough to check my setup…and i simply forgot to take care of the name conventions…in my case writing a module i forgot the categories after the node name
like : (Category OptionalVersion1 OptionalVersion2 … )

Thanks for clarifying!!!

so @jannis and @sonostrano still having the same problem?

so in the root when you dblclick and navigate to one of your modules does it feature a little “t” in front of its name or an “m”?
