Kinect OpenNI doesn't work anymore?

hi everybody! Strange problem here! I use for a while Kinect with OpenNI driver. Then, I installed the Microsoft Driver and the SDK stuff.

Today, I need again the OpenNI driver so I have:
-uninstalled Windows driver and sdk
-installed again OpenNI :
NITE-Win32-1.5.2.21-Dev
OpenNI-win32-1.5.2.23-redist
SensorKinect-Bin-Win32-v5.1.0.25

but the Kinect (Devices OpenNI) doesn’t work… is not red, but doesn’t give the driver version and doesn’t work at all. Then I have:
-uninstalled OpenNI
-installed again Windows driver and sdk 1.7
and the Kinect (Device Microsoft) works properly…

then again, at least for 2 more times.
Does anybody have any suggestion?

seems there’s no solution for this issue…
it’s quite random and mysterious!

and try the Kinect OpenNi in vvvv beta 28.1 !

we’ve had such reports before. i was never able to confirm them. for me it simply always worked with both openni and kinect.

note: when the openni ones work you can just install the ms-drivers in addition. when you no longer need them you can uninstall them and the openni ones start working again.

also note that it seems the openni-drivers only work with xbox360-kinects but not the dedicated windows-kinects.
