What is KanaMode?

Hi, I have a problem.
In my computer, this logic works good.
when pressing Number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 key, it returns their index.
but In my friend’s computer, it doesn’t work.

Keyboard(System Global)'s Key outputPin has ‘KanaMode’.
what is this?
Maybe Kana means japaneese.
My friend’s computer does not configured for japaneese, but korean.

have a look in the task bar, near the clock, there you can change the language setting of the keyboard… KanaMode may be a special input mode for asian characters.
