Kinect - crowded spaces

regarding single user scenarios in crowded places:
are there ways of filtering out one person over his friends in the background or passers by ?
ive done some patching where the most in the front or the most centered user would be picked up for interaction with the media but nothing too reliable

ps (in the opneni case) Head node similar to Hand would be usefull

I’ve also filtered by distance and closeness to centre, which worked ok for me…
I think having a cutoff depth within the plugin might help, as you can easily end up with users in the background over riding the ones in the foreground, but I’m not sure this is exposed in the driver or not…

i see… and wich of the drivers are better at skeleton tracking? does the upper body option make a difference ?

My last project I tested openni and ms and came down on the side of the ms ones…

have there been advancements in either implementations of kinect, regarding stability of skeleton tracking in crowded spaces during the last year ? i remember reading about sdk updates, also something about kinect in dx11 …
