Kinect auto exposure?

Seems my post didn’t post just the title…

so it seems that the depth image from the kinect has some kind of autoexposure thing going on, so the depth rather than being a messure value, varies depending on how close objects are to the camera eg my hand as it goes close to the camera makes the bg go darker, its like its a peak white already, and in order for relative distances to be right it stays the same white while everything else sinks back…
This is not the behavour I’d like if its at all possible, distances should be absolute, so is this a camera thing, or can it be set in the plugin?

i think it’s coming as is from openni, i tried to look around on the vveb for solutions/hints but apparently nobody cares. the clnui driver depth image doesn’t have this bug.

I noticed that too, hope will come around it soon. Kill my idea of instant mapping…
