Glowing text?

Hello all again;

Apologies for the string of basic questions, and thank you for your help so far.

How would I go about creating a outer glow around text?
I’ve some black text which over-laps other images, so I need to get a little white glow around the outside of each character.

I’ve done a google search and searched the forums but I can’t seem to find what I’m looking for.
