A very nice side effect of the new compiler is that we finally support recursive patches. Be it simple recursive functions or complex generic recursive data structures, the compiler should be able to handle all those cases properly now. The emitted code will also check for sufficient space on the execution stack protecting the patch from unrecoverable stack overflows.
