Professor of Interactive Media at NYU Abu Dhabi

Anyone looking for a job? There is an open position for an "Interactive Media Professor" at the New York University in Abu Dhabi at the moment. The description reads like this:

NYU Abu Dhabi is currently inviting applications for full time non-tenure track multi-year positions in the Interactive Media program, to begin Fall 2016. While technical fluency in computer programming and physical computing is a must, we are looking for someone who recognizes the aesthetic, cultural, and ethical implications of working with new technologies. Candidates must be able to continually engage with new tools and modes of expression and inspire students to do the same. We are looking for someone who will continually re-invent the curriculum and its integration into the NYUAD liberal arts experience as an ongoing part of their own research in interactive media.

Is that a problem if I can't speak Arabic at all, and I'm not a PhD or an official professor?
Yep it is a problem :D

i only see "A MFA, MPS or Ph.D. is required." but nothing about the need for speaking arabic. in fact i know people teaching there who don't speak arabic.

well after a certain age it is kinda rich people's privilege. in my field I'm not mangling with human lives or money so people are less excited about my lack of official certification about my knowledge. Also for me it's easier to learn from the internet than from the russian/slavic/hungarian style "hit it until it learns it" education system

Well with your skills probably it would be the best to be in a university that integrates the students from beginning on in the real research and publishing. Then it can be nice. There are some good computer graphics departments or human computer interaction in germany they do that, but anyway its annoying to go through other information science related first semester lectures. Then maybe what is left is an art studies but there you are usially on your own and there are no paper groups or anything that would be realy intelectualy satisfying but at least you get a degree..
