wow!
so what's the deal with new hi end graphic cards?
regarding performances and compatibility
seems there's still some troubles with some shaders on ATI cards?right?
cons/pros:
HD5870 2Go Eyefinity 6 + 6 triplehaeds allow in theory a 18 screen setup!
GTX 580 Phantom 3Go : more memory (in my case i'ld like to extend the memory for preloading and Queueing textures )but no span mode under win7
GTX 590 3Go : dual GPU cards, no span mode, texture sharing is not possible so only one of the 2 unit is used (disabling SLI) does that mean that only the half of the available memory is used too?
@ xd span mode is possible but with sli disabled!
dunno what happens to the GPU / shaders performances
how the 3 DVI outputs are managed
and if you still have the 3Go of Ram available
many questions :)let us know your first impressions with your 590
thks
@circuitb / xd nitro: as the vram on the board is afaik not shared among the 2 gpu cores, it looks like there'll be 1,5 gb of vram for each gpu core no matter what the application/driver settings are..
well there you have it, nVidia590 can't span across it's 3 ports. gutted. I now remember this was the case with the 295! Obvious really considering it two GPUs. Rat bags! ATI here I come.
Oh well, got a nice card for when I'm (rarely) using a single port. hmmmmmmmmmm++++++
haven't given up on this. The 590 DOES support span across 3 ports in windows 7. Span mode is back in windows 7! It's called Surround 2D. Currently having trouble with another graphics card in the system too. Fingers crossed can get 3 triple heads spanning. Read here about requirements for Surround (2D).
got a secondary monitor working with it which is nice. So primary 1080p and secondary span of 3840x1024. Needed to install the latests beta drivers though. Trouble with 3 x tripleHead2Go Analogues and digitals but not beaten yet.
huh?
ATI Eyefinity with 4* TH2go
resulting in 12 * 1280 * 720 ...
yeah now that way I'm talking about!
i've just spotted that the nVidia590 has 3 DVI outputs, I wonder if that can do 9 screens...
also, I see this is at 50Mhz, what can you get running at 60MHz?
it is Hz not MHz.
60Hz is also possible of course, the "European 50Hz-thing" most of the time is the more difficult part.
Markus
oh yeah of course Hz. Mhz would be pretty cool though. :)

So, my idea was totally wrong...:
I'm going to setup a SLI of two Quadro 2000D on I7, 8bg of ram, win7.
My goal is to manage two projector 1024x768 in stack with one card and 1 monitor for the patch interface on the other card...
Please I need your help.
Ciao!
PS: warping and keystoning are different on each projector, and I have some video that should be played on each Renderer...(videotexture? or VLC)
@circuitb, are you sure there's no span mode on the 590s? I've got one arriving tomorrow specially for spanning.

ahh, cool :) i forgot about that since my rusty old 260 does not support it.
@m4d according to xd's link your (and my) 260 does support surround 2D

%100 can't get 3 x 3H2G spanned on the 590 :(
