Who die praxis
When Tue, Feb 22nd 2011 - 19:00 until Sat, Feb 26th 2011 - 19:00
Where 22presents, Mlynárská 4, Praha 1, Praha, Czech Republic

In this site specific installation a second room is superimposed on the 22Presents showroom. The skeleton of the space is shifted into a different perspective and outlined on the walls.
Focussing on the transformation of one perspective into the other the space between the two is explored through iterative processes. The infinite variations and states of the process are reflected in generative laser drawings.
The sound creates a constantly changing environment. Space is made perceivable through moving relatively static sound sources across a special loudspeaker setup. Different sound beams scan the room and explore its spatial properties.

22presents
opening 22. Feb 2011 19h
running time 23. – 26. Feb 15 – 19h

Praxis is a collaborative workspace located in Berlin that houses a collective of likeminded people and friends working in the fields of New Media Art, Audiovisual Art, Interaction Design and Programming. Praxis started out in 2009 in Oranienstraße, Berlin Kreuzberg. The founding members were Sebastian Gregor and joreg (vvvv group) who then teamed up with visual artisits Rainer Kohlberger, Claudia Rohrmoser and sound artist Wilm Thoben. The VVVV crew was then joined by two more helping hands, Tebjan Halm, Elias Holzer.

Who evvvverybody
When Mon, Nov 15th 2010 - 01:00 until Sat, Nov 20th 2010 - 01:00

Dear friends and vvvvans,

We would like to invite you to the second edition of the

NODE - Forum for Digital Arts.

November 15th - 20th, 2010: NODE10 – Forum For Digital Arts
In cooperaton with the Frankfurter Kunstverein and the vvvv group
http://node.vvvv.org

The purpose of NODE is to facilitate the exchange between art, design and engineering in interactive and generative media. The 'NODE - Forum for Digital Arts' emerged in 2008 from an initiative of associates of MESO who at the same time had been developers and users of the graphical programming language vvvv (http://vvvv.org).

At first, NODE was meant to support the community of people using vvvv to create artistic and creative software projects, but it quickly changed into an international forum for knowledge exchange between designers, artists and engineers of various fields believing in the powers of programming and digital technologies. NODE08 turned out to be a one week-long rush of discussions, theoretical and practical lectures and workshops, artist presentations and events.

NODE10 should go way beyond NODE08. So, the focus of this year's lectures and exhibition 'abstrakt Abstrakt' is the investigation of cultural consequences of a post-industrialized, software-driven society. The workshops and open lab complement the theoretical views with practical hands on workshops about vvvv and related programming environments. Participants look into the subjects through workshops and talks combined with subsequent symposiums and live performances.

Here are some hightlights:

Exhibition 'abstrakt Abstrakt - The Systemized World' › With Ralf Baecker, FIELD, Ben Fry, Leander Herzog, Robert Hodgin, Thilo Kraft, Brandon Morse, Louise Naunton Morgan, John Powers, Patrick Raddatz, SOFTlab, Jorinde Voigt, Zimoun. Curated by Marius Watz and Eno Henze

Lecture Session 'Digital Media in Performing Arts' › With Frieder Weiss, Scott deLahunta, ID_Frankfurt/Independent Dance, Steve Valk

VVVV workshops by the core development team and the most obsessed users include › All week Projection Mapping, Dance & Media and Audio Visual workshops. VVVV for Beginners, Data Visualization, Multitouch Paradigms, Mathematics in VVVV, Effects and Shaders, Multiscreen Setups, Plugin Coding, Web Based Userinterface, Character Animation, Physics Based Animation, Video LED with E:cue ...Massimo Banzi comes for the Arduino workshop and the people behind Fritzing will share their knowlege.

When Sat, Nov 27th 2010 - 21:00 until Sat, Nov 27th 2010 - 21:00
Where Cité de la Musique, 221, avenue Jean-Jaurès, Paris, France

Dear vvvvriends,

on the 27th of november we will perform in Paris at the Cité de la Musique.
It's a new project we've been working on lately, we will take care of the realtime projected images while the Ensemble Intercontemporain will perform two pieces from the russian composer Dmitri Kourliandski.
Each musician of the Ensemble will be analyzed separately in Max-MSP, thanks to Thomas Goepfer from IRCAM, and the resulting data are sent to vvvv which generates the visuals. We will interact in realtime, controlling several parameters of the piece, as well as directing the camera movements.

Here some images and links, there are more images on our flickr.
Obviusly we'd love to see some vvvvolks there, let us know if you're coming!

Who Lanvideosource , Mattia Casalegno
When Fri, Oct 1st 2010 - 20:00 until Sun, Oct 3rd 2010 - 20:00
Where iMAL, Center for Digital Cultures and Technology, 30-34 Quai des Charbonnages, Bruxelles, Belgium

Ustable Empathy

Unstable Empathy is a project by Mattia Casalegno and Enzo Varriale (aka Lanvideosource), produced by iMal for the Media Facade Festival 2010 and Nuite Blanch Brussels.

Unstable Empathy is an intimate environment re-mediated in real-time by the mind activity of two players who are constantly forced to negotiate their emphatic state. It is a collaborative experience in which the meanings of cooperation, entangling and collective consciousness are directly perceived on the physiological level.

At each session, EEG headsets are being mounted on the heads of two participants which will be positioned in front of each other in complete darkness. Their respective brain activities are the only means by which they can reach the other and its image, while rendering visible and audible un/revealing strategies that are part of their inner self.

The installation will be on show at iMal from 1th to 3th October 2010.
For reservation and infos > http://www.imal.org/en/activity/mff-2010-unstable-empathy

Softwarized by VVVV
EEG headsets provided by Emotiv inc.
