ich² is a dance performance combined with a 360° projected stage. the venue we use is a tiny planetarium in Kiel where we implemented vvvv to enable us to do cool realtime visuals and play pre-rendered videos.

the whole performance is slightly a media overkill. the dancers will be able to control elements of the virtual stage and sound with the help of motion sensing techniques (cameras + body sensors). but basically the whole 360° projection will blow your mind as it perfectly fools your brain

for everyone who's interested, check the website (only in german right now) and get a ticket. sure, kiel is far off but it's probably worth the journey ..

for all vvvv forum veterans...if u need a place for your sleeping bag, send me a mail ce(ääht)muthesisus.de

we are pleased to announce that egosoccer has won the play-award competition for "innovation in football".

YAY.

still only a prototype egosoccer cannot really be played. it is not exactly cheap to realize, but some stills and a video are available that hopefully gives you a good idea of the..idea.

the video is also shown at the play-award exhibition (see poster on the left) among 30 other entries to the competition.

4444 thanks to time's up the inventors of spin without which egosoccer would not even be a prototype.

for all timeline addicts out there... OSCGlue will connect VSTbased sequencers to the world of OSC. Now you can control your VVVV patches with Ableton Live.
Write a text file to specify which OSC parameters you need, open up in the sequencer, and you will have a VST plugin with all parameters as specified..

with the new release you'll

  • remote control your patches over a webbrowser
  • track every moving object
  • scroll in your patches horizontally
  • won't notice the bug fixes (but they are there!)
  • watch yourself in the mirror for hours
  • mess around with your own enum types

this is to inform you of our latest and greatest.

3 years and still beta?! well yes. this is a serious busyness to do. bear with us, we will get there. here is the short story of what is new for this release:

  • multimonitor support is greatly improved. still not perfect but on its way..
  • deinterlacing via videotexture finally seems to work smoothly with only 2 frames delay from the input.
  • the new ColorTracker is not yet spreadable but still great and only part of what is still to come in that field..
  • with SetPatch (VVVV) we introduce another complete universe. be sure to check its helppatch.

may this help you during the upcomming boring days.
so patch yourself and gut keks.
santa boys.

http://www.heise.de/ix

there's a very nice article about vvvv in the latest iX-magazine.

watch out for "Boygrouping und Girlpower", a 5 page long article about our beloved software from the perspective of "industrial system clients"(?)

in fact a very sweet introduction into vvvv with the approach to get around this sometimes loose toolbox and just a more practical way to describe it.

Yipee!

The exhibition "Experience Art! - fascination art and technology" shows selected works in the fields new media art, cinetic art, cybernetic art, interactive sound and video installations are represented.
My partner Giovanni Longo and I, Peggy Sylopp are art directors of the exhibition.

Beside works of renowned joint founders of the media arts such as Sound Wall (Peter Vogel), Talking Machine (Martin Riches), Breathing Suitcases (Benoit Maubrey) and the Flamenco Magnetico - robots (Nicolas A.Baginsky), there is also the work of young talents, for example Camera Lucida (Dmitry Gelfand and Evelina Domnitch), Sonobotanic Plants (Marije Baalman) and Metaforms (Tim Coe).

Also shown is my installation Crackling Water: the visitors watch a video installation and are filmed by a camera at the same time. Their motion causes bubbles to appear on the video in realtime.
For the realization I implemented the motion detection of pd in combination with wave simualtion of vvvv.

Main subject of our diploma thesis is to determine to which extent a dataflow graph is suitable for building complex web server applications in an intuitive way. It might sound a little diffuse, but for you, it’ll result into a straightforward bunch of new nodes. Finally there will be two new node categories: XML and HTTP Server. While the HTTP Server allows to serve (X)HTML strings to the WWW, the XML Nodes open a huge field of creating and respectively transforming those strings. The HTTP Server is split into two nodes: Server & Receiver. The receiver throws out HTTP Requests, now you can let server serve request-depending strings. You can already try the first set of new nodes with beta9.2.

We’ve created a diploma page with the current state of our work. Later we will provide example modules as well as tutorials for the XML Stuff on that site. diploma page?

Check the Users? page. It is thought to be the place to all different user activities.

First of all there are links to all the userpages and then there are links to all the places where users can talk about their work and also are able to place some news in the blog. because often there are interesting things in the shoutbox and the next day they're gone. In the blog we could place links to all different stuff, like interesting devices and software or links to new wikipages...
Then the community page also links to all downloadable stuff from the users.
