Coached Workshop at Hyperwerk (Basel, Switzerland) this july.

The goal was to design a new audiovisual content for a previous installation: nomadix. The nomadix installation is composed of seven inflatable, motorized “screens” in the shape of a cone. The devices consist of a beamer, a computer, speakers and a motor for each of the two axis of rotation.

(nomadix1 project website)

Following students participated in the project: Markus Abt | Jan Dusek | Leander Herzog.

Download this video from Jan Dusek to see a beta version of the content and the programming of the cones. Or catch this upcoming boygroup live at ars electronica in linz from 30.8. to 6.9.

The paper will be published and presented at the WSEAS Conference of Communications Athens, Greece, July 13-15, 2006.

vvvvolks!

The new VVVV website version 3 is online. As you can see, not only the style is new, there have been also a lot of structural changes. Content is structured a bit different to the previous version. have a look around and enjoy!!!

here are the most important things you have to get used to.

  • the Fan Club? section is your new home. Here you can find the recent changes, last forum and blog posts as well as the bazaar, which is the place for sharing stuff. Make this section to your home-page if you are visiting us often.
  • the entrance page instead is meant as an introduction for newbies and poeple who haven't really got into vvvv before.
  • when editing a wiki page or any other object you should categorize this object in order to expand the corresponding navigation submenu.
  • The login-box appears only in the Fan Club? section or if you are logged in.

please check you userpage if it still looks as you expect. the complete site is a bit smaller then before. it might happen on some pages, that the right side is cutted. please edit those pages. If you find something you can't edit on you own, inform us in the vvvvorum.

your dedicated (web) servants at vvvv.

ich² is a dance performance combined with a 360° projected stage. the venue we use is a tiny planetarium in Kiel where we implemented vvvv to enable us to do cool realtime visuals and play pre-rendered videos.

the whole performance is slightly a media overkill. the dancers will be able to control elements of the virtual stage and sound with the help of motion sensing techniques (cameras + body sensors). but basically the whole 360° projection will blow your mind as it perfectly fools your brain

for everyone who's interested, check the website (only in german right now) and get a ticket. sure, kiel is far off but it's probably worth the journey ..

for all vvvv forum veterans...if u need a place for your sleeping bag, send me a mail ce(ääht)muthesisus.de

we are pleased to announce that egosoccer has won the play-award competition for "innovation in football".

YAY.

still only a prototype egosoccer cannot really be played. it is not exactly cheap to realize, but some stills and a video are available that hopefully gives you a good idea of the..idea.

the video is also shown at the play-award exhibition (see poster on the left) among 30 other entries to the competition.

4444 thanks to time's up the inventors of spin without which egosoccer would not even be a prototype.

for all timeline addicts out there... OSCGlue will connect VSTbased sequencers to the world of OSC. Now you can control your VVVV patches with Ableton Live.
Write a text file to specify which OSC parameters you need, open up in the sequencer, and you will have a VST plugin with all parameters as specified..

download and documentation here
