Ionian University) co organize an intense five day and night program listing international shows and productions, for innovative media art, electronic music and cross-over art with artists such as musicians, video artists, performers, sonic artists, involving different arts and lifestyles.
ElectroMediaWorks ’08 is hosted at a 1800-square meter industrial space down town Athens. A complete 16-channel diffusion system will be in place for the electroacoustic works and the live electronics and a 5.1 surround system for the video art installations.

Jannis Kreft is giving a vvvv workshop at the HfG Offenbach in the class E-Bild every second thursday of the semester & additional lectures on the weekends. The workshop starts with the basics of vvvv programming and later on has a focus on tracking techniques and the visualisation of music.
The patches of this workshop will be available for download later on.
surely a small step for mankind but still worth noting is vvvvs newly built in open plugininterface that allows anyone to write their own plugin-nodes. horray. still without documentation at this moment, which shall be changed shortly after Node08 has finished. bare with us..
a real revolution in interface design though is offered by the patentpending Kalle (VVVV) node. handle with care.
all the best,
horray. just right in time for node08 a new release: 33beta15.
lots of stuff this time:
ja, and a fix here and a new bug there, of course.
have we mentioned beta14.9? actually if all goes well with beta15 it shouldn't be of any interest. really only if beta15 feels strange in a way you may want to check against beta14.9 and report if you find any obvious differences that may help us debugging.
for now have a nice patch,
see you at node08,
your vvvv group.
Still hot, we're very happy to announce Massimo Banzi from Arduino fame hosting a workshop at the buzzing NODE08 – Forum For Digital Arts on Thursday, April 10th. It's called Tinkering with Arduino and vvvv so get that cocktail mixer and fridge connected for some fun physical computing!
Remember that tickets and seating capacity are limited, apply for tickets and reservations before you miss out …
do any of you work on datasets? here is a call for videos that just reached me:
vizNET 2008 encourages attendees to submit a short video clip for inclusion in one of the early presentation sessions. We are very keen for attendees to have the opportunity to fully participate during the event. Whilst some people may prefer to show off some of their work we also recognise that some attendees may be more interested in highlighting a problem they are trying to solve and which they would like to share with others. For instance you may have a particularly challenging data set with no immediately obvious means of teasing out important features of the underlying data set properties. By bringing examples of such challenges to vizNET 2008 it is highly likely that other people attending the vizNET event will be able to suggest possible ways of solving the problems.
Dear friends and vvvv users.
For a few years now, the nice community of our multipurpose toolkit has been growing and growing. Many of you have been in contact virtually, but never really met. This needs to change.
April 5 - 12, 2008: NODE08 – Forum For Digital Arts
NODE08 is not profit-oriented. However, participation in the workshops and lectures requires a ticket: this helps to pay for costs and expenses of the lecturers, artists, rentals, gear, etc. Relating to the licensing scheme of vvvv, we trust our guests to choose the right ticket scheme.
Besides the Fan-Pass for non-commercial users, we'd especially like to advertise the Pro-Pass at EUR 444,— granting free access to all workshops, lectures and the grande finissage.
The Pro-Pass is meant to be the right ticket for those who think the NODE08 Visit is more commercial than personal. By buying the Pro-Pass you become an official Sponsor of NODE08. It also guarantees peace of mind in case the knowledge gained in attending the workshops, which are held by honorary workshop facilitators, is going to be applied incommercial projects.
We would like to thank you in advance for supporting NODE08 by buying the Pro-Pass. To be recognisable as a sponsor, the Pro-Pass badge will be colour-coded.
The available tickets are …
Full week Pro-Pass (all included) EUR 444
Full week Fan-Pass (all included) sold out
3Day-Pass (April 5 - 7) EUR 55
2Day-Pass (April 9 - 10) EUR 55
