about

I am the primary lead artist at Monolith on the Condemned: Criminal Origins team. Our internal engine is completly shader based, but I dont get to focus to much on that aspect of it at work, so its nice to have a lightweight app to quickly prototype stuff.

I am primarily focused on vvvv as a quick prototyping area for hlsl. Other projects in this area are building a managed directX framework in Python, usable under IronPython and Python.net. However building a framework takes a while, and when you just want to make a shader nothing seems to beat vvvv.

Currently working on a series of pixel shaders dealing with color correction.

  1. Levels shader FINISHED 25.02.2006
    1. access to 3 individual color channels
    2. change the black point/white point and mid point for each
    3. change the black, white and mid point for all 3 channels at once
  2. Curves shader
    1. a pixel shader based wave shapper
    2. again access to individual channels or all 3 at once
    3. this one would benefit from a easy way to generate the curves. I am new to vvvv so maybe it exists? basically an io box that allowed me to change 255 values by drawing in it?
    4. this one will also benefit from presets, like threshold, invert, and solarize.
