Stuff for newbies

trail of tutorials

  • FAQ GUI "I just hit Alt+3 (Hide) on my last patch, i see no way to get it visible again..."
  • perhaps despite the name "HowTo Dx Rendering" is for all newbies: HowTo Dx Rendering?

Non-obvious tools

AxisAndGrid module

Provides a dx9 layer with axis and grid. toggle these with keypresses a and g, respectively. see DX9 Rendering at anchor #id68211

Camera

When a camera module is connected to your dx9 renderer, use the keys O to orbit, P to dolly ('P'osition), R to reset to the initial stuff. Z to zoom or pan (depending on mouse button).
When you set a camera's "initial distance", it isn't immediately used - reset with R to jump to the initial distance.
See DX9 Rendering at anchor #id68211

Renderer TTY

Apparently, other nodes may write debug information to tty renderer. HowTo+TTY+Rendering
