Contour module

Hey folks, sorry I hijacked someone elses thread with this, I suppose i should put it in its own home-

I’m wondering with the contour module, is there any way to assign a number (say starting from 1 and up incrementally) to each of the detected objects, render them on the objects using the x and y coords, and stay on those objects for as long as they are onscreen?

basically right now when i plug contour directly into a video output, instead of it showing me the blobs in white, i’d rather each one have be numbered. or the technique of building this type of idea, rather

Sorry I’m a bit of a beginner, i’ve looked through the forum but can’t really find something close to this. I’m probably omitting some sort of simple concept but please bare with me :)

thanks in advance for any help!

may be this patch helps you ?!?

Hey Kalle,

thanks for the help!

Sorry i should have been specific, i used an example and maybe i used the wrong one.

I put together a quick nonsensical flow chart of what i’m trying to achieve. I’ve been mucking about with vvvv for about a week now, and I’m not sure of ways to do this sort of programmatic choose/assigning

thanks again to anyone for any help

hi folks, sorry to bump my own thread but even some basic ideas on how to achieve this workflow would be helpful…basically to take a bunch of different modules, and assign them randomly to a non-resetting ID number on the contour module.

So say, there are three modules, each make a quad. one is white, the next is blue, the third is red. i want to assign a module to a blob that the contour module detects, using the blobs ID, for the duration that it is onscreen.

again sorry if this is blatantly obvious and i’m just missing a fundamental technique…i’m quite new to vvvv :)

you can’t pay that with money.
what you want to do seems to be trivial but it isn’t at all.

my head is “steaming” for around 2 hours now around this and i’m close to an elegant (what i think) solution.

inside is a module that formerly costed me some intensive hours.

patience.
i finish this tonight.
otherwise i’ll find no sleep.

my friend, if we ever meet in person you owe me some beer.

i wonder if somebody has a simpler approach.

this is incredible…I have no way to say thanks enough. Indeed if we ever meet, I will owe you ten kegs of beer! :)
