vvvv is has been seen running on
While vvvv is a 32bit software and thus can only use <2GB of memory by default with a little modification to the executable possible memory usage increases as follows:
So if you have large memory demands (e.g. large number of textures) choose a 64bit version of Windows.
Here is a little tool by FordGT90Concept that conveniently allows you to make the necessary modification to vvvv.exe. While the tool is quite self-explanatory there are some vital instructions for further steps needed if running on a 32bit system (scroll down to Instructions for allowing applications to use more RAM in 32-bit operating systems).

Keep in mind that all components are important.
Try to choose a steel case (not aluminium)
Think about In and Out air stream and case space for a nice global cooling.
Think about a good CPU cooling solution even without overclocking. Intel ones are pretty bad.
Think about Raid system with Sata or SSD disk for high disk performances.
